Okay. Coming up on six months since I stepped away from “Good Bones” to give it a rest, and yesterday, I opened the draft folder to look it over.

I’m still rereading it, and see a lot of places that need improvement, and think I know the way forward on revising where it needs to go and flow as opposed to where it was initially intended, as those plotlines were too entangled with Other Things that are no longer within my capability for a number of reasons, which need not be gone into.

But I can acknowledge that, and having done so, and begin the process of moving forward. I expect I will begin working on it in earnest by mid-September, unless the characters take over my life again as they did in the early days, and insist that I pick it up sooner.

Ash NicSidhe has been a voice in the Pagan and Traditional Witchcraft community for over fifty years, writing under this name and its evolving magical lineage. Her work explores Witchcraft, folklore, Tarot, and the esoteric arts, weaving scholarly insight with lived ritual experience and initiatory tradition. Another Month, Another Post

Towards the end of March, the characters related to the *Good Bones* saga began talking to me—no, lecturing me. More specifically, Brooke Morningstar’s grandparents, Anastazia and Józef, both Holocaust survivors, sat me down one evening and began telling me their harrowing story. From Auschwitz-Birkenau, to their struggle for survival and eventual reunion in Prague, their journey is one of resilience and love. Not to mention their history has some parallels to current events today.
