flashfic

Short fiction written based around a prompt, sometimes a dictionary word, or an idea. Generally, around 100-250 words, although there are exceptions. Most of mine were written several years ago when I was active in several fandom email lists and groups.

What? It’s April, already?

What? It’s already April? Life has been somewhat chaotic and challenging for me over the past several months, especially after the US elections. I won’t say I was surprised by the outcome, but I was disappointed. On a brighter note, I was recently diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, and after starting medication, I can finally concentrate and complete tasks! I’m back at work on my murder mystery, *Good Bones*, and I’m excited to share some new short stories featuring beloved characters. Plus, I’ve been writing songfics and poetry again. How is your year going?

Hubris: a dictionary drabble/flash fiction

What seems a lifetime ago, I used to write fanfic, mainly in the Harry Potter fandom. Unlike a number of folks I know, I remained below the radar and never gained a great following, which actually suits me fine. “Fame and fortune, that’s not for me!”

I’m cleaning out old files and found this drabble I wrote for one of the HP lists back then, got a giggle and thought I’d share.
